  • Profile

Women whose lives have been shattered by domestic abuse, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, and prostitution can receive wholeness and restoration at Moriah House. Moriah House is Memphis Union Mission’s long-term recovery program for women and their children. This ministry accepts up to 15 women and their children and accommodates them in individual suites with private baths. The ultimate objective is for these women and their families to encounter new life through a relationship with Jesus Christ and emerge as fulfilled, productive members of the community. The program receives clients by referral. Women in residence have a structured schedule, consisting of chores, physical exercise, meal times, Bible studies and counseling sessions. All activities are facilitated by Moriah House’s four staff members, as well as community volunteers. Women in the program also learn practical skills like managing a budget, pursuing an education and raising a family.

Most of Memphis Union Mission’s programs are free of charge.
