  • Profile

The Odessa Care Home Program is designed to assist those clients who struggle with aggression, schizophrenia psychotic depression and bi-polar disorders. Psychiatric symptoms which continue after the patient has been stabilized may include loitering, panhandling and poor communication interactions, and the lack of motivation to perform the most basic of tasks, such as bathing, and other forms of daily hygiene. The Odessa Care Home Program within VOH provides assistance to people who are elderly, mentally ill, homeless, and abusing, addicted to,, and/or dependent upon alcohol and other drugs. They are supported in their transition from hospitals and other institutions and helped back into the community. Continued treatment addresses these issues and help maintain a stable environment within the group home setting. The ultimate goal is to provide support for these people so they may eventually obtain and maintain the level of independence, and sobriety needed to be upstanding citizens in the community they live in.
